Washing Machine Drum

Seems to have come of its axis??
drum is really stiff to turn - usually turns freely. and is banging and seems 'off its axis' to me. makes funny noises as well.

is this fixable or am i better off getting new machine (not that we can afford either)

really do not need this at the moment!!!

sounds like the main bearing has gone. they are cheap enough to DIY. 10/20 quid.
    beware,
on some machines you have to replace the drum spindle too, which really makes the repair uneconomical.

you can get a new machine for about 200 quid.
    Get some gorm.

It is either the bearing or the spider which holds the drum on time for a new one me thinks.

If you can find an identical model at the council tip, (without your drum problem), you can put the two together to make one working washing machine. The main difficulty is that most councils are totally against recycling and won't let you do this.
