Beach sun shade

Hi everyone,
Just wondered if you think it is a good idea to get a beach shade/tent for holidays? I have been looking at one with 40 SPF. Not sure though if we really need it. If so, is it best to get a baby/toddler one or one larger for all of us?
Have you found them useful? What type did you get and from where? What have you used it for in particular?
TIA for any help!

i bought one for our first holiday with our son when he was 6 months old and we have used it every summer since, on holiday and in the garden as the kids like to use it. I bought it from elc, Im pregnant with number 3, so after 5 years of using it still has a few more years left in it !0

I bought one for my 6 month old son, to take on our holiday to Australia.
In the end I didn't have enough room to pack it, and he wasn't the worse for it!
If you do intend to buy one, go for the big one, the small one is useless for any form of playing in now, it is just soooo closed in and small, it just ends up not being used.0 -
Thank you for your help.
Do you have links for the products you have bought? There are so many on the market that it would help to look at what you have purchased personally if possible..
Cheers

the one I should have gone for
Not however, the first picture doesn't have a parent anywhere near, it is so small, and the boy is lying down.
In the second picture the mother has to lie down.
Just making the point how limited they are, however with the big family tent I think you would get more uses0 -
Hi,
I did go to Mothercare and checked out the small tent-gosh, was it small! I felt inclosed myself... Would be ok for a liitle 'un, but that's it!! Would outgrow it very quickly.
I bought the large family size tent and am delighted. We did a trial run last night, once you get the hang of it, it is very easy! And lots of room..
Thanks all for your tips and advice!
