Depending on what "special order" is to you then you may or may not be entitled to return the goods. The DSR give retailers extra rights too i.e. being able to cancel orders right up until dispatch/delivery.
Also think how the DSR's are almost intended to "simulate" high street store conditions. By this i mean they allow consumers to inspect the goods, and whilst this right costs the business money, it IS fair as they dont have to pay nearly as much overheads online so the cost of the DSR is still negligibleBack by no demand whatsoever.0 -

I highly suggest you read THIS
half way down page 17 is the stuff you need to know as you seem to have no knowledge of The DSR and a sellers legal obligations.Back by no demand whatsoever.0 -

They dont have to be! Its a fundamental consumer right when distance buying that you have the right to a full refund within 7 working days beginning the day after delivery.
Read my above links before posting any of your irrelevant comments as they are completely wrong in terms of consumer law.Back by no demand whatsoever.0 -

Nope, that's what a lot of companies would like you to believe but you are allowed to open the packaging to inspect the goods and check they meet your needs.0 -
When a retailer decides to sell at a distance they will be well aware of the laws they need to follow, so they obviously know about the DSR, so this is a risk they have decided to take (nobody is forcing them to sell online).
Any good company will fact in a percentage on each sale to counter act the lost money on items returned.0 -
factor in ? why should they ? penalise good customers to account for the bad ?
