This offer has been on since before christmas. I was especially insterested in the mini-sd cards. Sadly it's an argos style "to good to be true" offer where no store has stock. Been in 12 stores on my travels since exmas and found the grand total of ZERO mini-sd cards but plenty of the jumbo standard SD cards that are twice the size of most electronic gadgets

    And Den169.
Go to the supervisors desk or wherever they keep the DVDs and stuff thats not on the shelves and ask them to look for the cards. Did not like it but when they did there was allsorts in these drawers, the 4GB SDHC and the 2gbSD and 4GB micro cards with adapters. I asked why they were not out on show and all I got was a shrug!!
Not to worry I brought two at £5. More than happy.

    Thanks both

Think I will take it back for a refund. As I said, I haven't opened it so should be fine.

There's no need to do that. Just tell us what model of camcorder you have, and we should be able to find out relatively easily if it is compatible.

No need to waste a good bargain like this!

  • Hmm.... looking at the specification, it says "extention slot for MMC/SD memory cards" and doesn't mention SDHC at all. Best bet would be to return this card and buy a non-HC card (or 2) e.g. this one, just to be on the safe side. Most places (Asda, Tesco etc) do sell 2GB SD cards quite reasonably.

Oh well, wothy a try :)

Done exactly that in 8 morissons stores with no luck. Their filing system is archaic
  • I did say 'in practice' because while the SD card standard did allow for 'standard capacity' 4GB cards, I am not sure any were ever manufactured for mass sale. In reality, the only cards ever widely available, and in fact on sale today, in the 4GB size are SDHC ones.

Yes, it's annoying. I have a device which claims to work with SD cards up to 4Gb, but won't work with SDHC cards. So I'm stuck at 2Gb
