Lagging pipes

Hi
Maybe a bit of a daft question, but given recent events, do I need to lag the HW pipe that comes from the boiler?
It runs alongside an external wall and up beside the back door frame and it will be a bit of a squeeze to get the climaflex foam stuff behind it. Common sense tells me it should be lagged but I'm worried putting the climaflex behind may possibly put pressure on a joint and cause a leak, also can a hot pipe cause any problem with the climaflex i.e fire risk ? (though I appreciate it will prob not be that hot)
Thanks

It is probably a good idea to insulate all pipes if they can be accessed. The only reason for not doing it might be if you wanted a bit of a heat bleed to warm an airing cupboard or some such area. There is almost always more flex in a pipe than you might think. If the pressure of a bit of insulation material is likely to cause a fault then the pipe work has not been very well installed. Your fears about heat affecting the insulation are not logical. Pipe insulation is by definition used to insulate hot pipes. I don't know about you, but I resent the loss of any heat, especially if it can be prevented by the use of a simple bit of pipe lagging.I can afford anything that I want.

So the foam 15mm lagging you'd find in homebase etc is fine for cold water and hot water pipes? Sorry, novice here but assume it is!

Why would it not be. I have never seen an advert for pipe insulation just for cold water only. It is all just pipe insulation.I can afford anything that I want.
