Buying electric cooker -recommendations please!

Hiya,
We are looking to buy an electric cooker. I have put my foot down after far too long coping with a rubbish mini oven and a two ring portable hob (we've had 3, you can't clean them and they keep breaking down!).
I guess we will have to spend between £200 and £300 for a half decent one but we're not exactly rolling in it so the cheaper the better!. Having a fear of those solid plates with metal surrounds because of the above, I would prefer one of the flat topped halogen ones if poss.
Does anyone know of any good deals anywhere or can anyone recommend any reputable, reliable net dealers or good cheapish cookers anywhere?
Thanken you

Hi, don't mean to hijack the thread but we are looking as well so any advice would help two money savers for the price of one!
Thanks,
Andy
