in Credit cards
Hiya
New here!!
We have been trying to get a credit card for a while now.
My husband is in permanent employment, he works for the prison service, we privately rent, he doesn't earn a great amount but it is average, we have a loan that we have not defaulted on in a year, we have paid all our bills for over 4 years by direct debit with no defaults, Our house has bad credit from the last tenants but I know this does not matter to your personal credit score as they do not go off the house, We also have an account with freemans, not had it very long but is has been paid every month and we are on the electoral register at this address.
Debt wise we have had one court summons from the council tax about 18 months ago, which was paid off and it was there fault we got it as they made a mistake, we also got a court summons with the water board, about a year ago again their fault, they didn't transfer our account from our old address. but none of these actually went to court because they were all paid,
so cannot understand why we cannot get a credit card, BUT i cannot get a credit report as we only have a switch card?
Any ideas?

There are two items on there that say we owe money to them and we definately do not!!
Also we have a previous tenant still using this address to gain money through bank accounts!!
How can i stop that from happening again?

I had trouble as I'm only 18 and only just started work. I got turned down for loads of cards... but tried Mint and got accepted! Try them maybe they have easier thingy.
Oh check your credit history at experian and the other agency - maybe there is an error on the system that prevents you from gettin credit0 -

raise a notice of dispute with the CRA and they will write to the data controller on your behalf and ask them to verify the information.Michele37 wrote:Also we have a previous tenant still using this address to gain money through bank accounts!!
Same again contact the CRA and ask for a notice of disassociation from the named person. It’s hard enough remembering my opinions - without remembering my reasons for them :rolleyes:0 -
Everyone should check Their credit reports often, sometime the CRA's mess up often and people don't realize there credit is being effected. It's easy to dispute something on your credit report with the CRA's, just don't hire someone to clean up your credit, you can do just the same thing for free.0
