extended service plan

hi all never again will i buy a extended service plan i bought a laptop from littlewooddirect back in September 2008 i took out the warranty for a extra 3 years costing me £150.in September 2009 a week out the first years manufacture warranty.my laptop broke down the motherboard went it was away six weeks.i received the laptop back and after a week the same problem happened so i sent it back again.so taday i phone littlewoods direct and asked what was happenening with the laptop.they told me am entitled to a new laptop as it still not fixed.then i asked if the 3 years extra warranty I paid for will just be carried on with this new laptop the said no that dies with the old laptop so I would have to take another service plan out again costing me £160 :mad:

How is this unfair? This is how most insurance works (in particular car insurance). You purchased the cover for your laptop, it served it's purpose in full, and paid out for a replacement

i know its a mugs game now.but with car insurance if u claim your still cover afterwards the insurance pays outs
Not if it is a complete loss (e.g. write off) which, in effect, is what your extended warranty has paid out on.
If you think about it, you are no worse off at all. You have a brand new laptop on its way which you wouldn't have done if you didn't have the plan.0
