Hi, my hubby is currently on a course. It's a three week course but he's only actually in the classroom monday to friday. It's only about 2 hours away from home so he is planning to come home at the weekends. We're unsure whether he will get LSSA for this course as he's still coming home at the weekends although technically the course is from 11 - 29 January so is over the 10 day limit thingy for LSSA.

Any one any ideas whether he'll get it?

If the course doesnt involve weekend work, he will get Get You Home allowance, based on the mileage between your home and his temporary place of duty.

He should also be able to claim Incidental Expenses of £5 per night. And remind him to apply for leave for the weekends, so he gets his food money back for those days.

    e. Qualifying Separation (QS). Qualifying Separation (QS)is defined as 10 consecutive days or more INVOLSEP that is taken at a location that precludes return to the duty station, family home or permanent residence during normal stand down periods (eg weekends).
