  • Is it possible to get frozen cherries in iceland? don't know cos haven't been in there in years !
Yes it's a bit rare, I am in Thornton where are you?

Gynn Square, but work in Thornton! It's a small world!
  • I've nevger understood why Nigella of all people suggested to people that they cook a nice piece of meat in sugar, caramel and phosphoric acid

I'm cooking gammon at the weekend and it will have apple juice and fresh vegetables added to it ;) Any stock left over after gravy is made will become the base of a bacon and lentil soup - you can't do that with the remains of cherry coke :D

Mind, the liquor left over from the ham-in-Coke recipe makes a cracking stock base for a thick, black-bean soup; swings and roundabouts I suppose :)

That';s good to know - I'd been led to believe, by people who cook with cola, that any leftover stock has no use :T

People seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.

Oh yes, you must try it :) - if it appeals, that is.......

But entirely agree with your point; seems a shame to bin all this goodness when there are so many things you can do with the stock/cooking liquor/whatever - as much from a "it tastes good" point of view as a "it saves money" point of view, if not more so!

Sorry, it appeals not at all :o I prefer to use fresh food in my cooking rather than pop ;)
