there used to be one outside Cullybackey, but I'm not sure if its there any more. I think it was the Hillmount Road (I might have got that name wrong, if so, sorry), you know, go along the Kilrea road for a bit and then fork off to the right, it was somewhere along there near those wee cottages. Is this making any sense at all?!! I can see it all in my head !
And years ago there used to be one on the Ballygarvey Road outside Ballymena, but again it was donkeys years ago and it might be long gone...0 -
Have a wee look at this - I haven't a clue if it's close to Ballymena or not!

AFAIK Hillmount Fruit Farm is still open in the summer months.
Thriftylady's directions are spot on, if you go past the cottages on the Hillmount Road then you've gone too far.
Be prepared to come home dusty and with a red mouth from eating strawbs in the car on the way home though
They also do other soft fruits depending on how the crop has gone, blackcurrants and raspberries etc.
Let us know how you get on0 -

Snowy that's in County Down, last time I checked Ballymena was in County Antrim
Good link though for anyone in that area0 -
Oops! Maybe PinkWinged will give it a visit - I think it's in her neck of the woods.
I am looking for a pick your own farm somewhere around Newry, within about a 20 miles radius or so, including over the border. Does anybody know of any such establishment?
I really, really want to make some jam this year but not use the half rotten strawberries which are sold at rip off prices in the shops.0 -
Thanks for the reminder Snowy.....I think I might take the children to Ballywalter for some strawberries tomorrow.:)
