About 6yrs ago i had an account with lloyds tsb and went overdrawn, i got messed around with pay from my job and couldnt pay the charge, the account was suspended and i didnt hear anything for ages, my grandmother paid off a bank charge for me which i thought was lloyds, it wasnt. in november/december 09 i recieved a letter form a collection agency saying i owed £326.6 for these charges. i can only assume this is all interest etc. it has been an honest mistake on my part because i was sure the account was settled. is this fair, what can i do?
any help will be greatly appreciated

Hi LeeB1983 and welcome to MSE :hello:
You, by your own admission, made a mistake.
Why do you think someone has been unfair to you because of your mistake?
Why do you think someone else should compensate you for your mistake?

Welcome Lee.
If it's credit card charges, then there is plenty you can do. You can write to the bank, use the data protection letter to get all the information they hold on you. The link below will help you to get the charges with interest back. http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/credit-card-charges Letter Template: Data Protection Request
If however it is bank charges, not a lot at the moment. Reading this will give you some insight. http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/bank-charges
EDIT: Just read title...bank charges.
If you have any credit card charges to reclaim, it's still be the best way to go. 0
