Cancer Charity - am I over-reacting?

It would probably have been an even quicker process than logging onto here to have a moan about it! If you are upset about it, give them an opportunity to fix the problem!
You got me there.
But my main gripe is not the junk mail, it's the fact that they're spending what seems like large amounts of money sending out begging letters - to people who are already donating - and not taking any notice of the response. It feels too big-businessy for me.
I think I'm going to follow some of the advice here and
a) remove myself from their mailing list
b) cancel my direct debit
c) donate directly, closer to home.0 -

And I 100% agree with you.
Not just about the "big business" comment, but I also used to feel like I was being emotionally blackmailed.
As I said in my earlier post, I'm sure that your generosity and monthly donation is appreciated (as are all donations!) although sometimes they have a really strange way of showing it!
Take care"One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."

I'd just like to say don't use the charity muggers in shopping centres that try to get you to give £2 a month, as the company they work for creams off a large percentage before the charity even sees the money.
I say give to little charities, or mow a little old ladie's lawn for her0 -
A good way of giving to charity is to leave a legacy in your will. It will probably be a long time before they see any of your money, but they defo won't send you begging letters after the first gift:D.0
