Hi everyone,
I have an old BBC news report relating to a charity I am helping out that I want to put into Powerpoint, but the video is in real player format which isn't compatible with ppt and is too long.
I have downloaded the following products already in an attempt to trim the video to just the 30 seconds of report I need, and convert to MP4 format:
X2X free video trim - cut the video where it needed trimming, but the audio was cut in a different place so the sound didn't match the video at all!
Ultra Video Splitter - splits the video ok, but regardless of how carefully I set the start and end points, it delays the trimming both points by 3 seconds either side so it doesn't match what I want - no amount of trying works, it trims in exactly the same place every time! I spent hours trying to readjust the trim point to account for this but I suspect it defaults to a certain frame in the video.
Any video converter - wouldn't let me import the flash file without paying for the premium version! I didn't want to do this without the guarantee it would work!
Videospin 2.0 - puts a watermark over the video if you don't pay for the full version.
Oxelon - just hangs when I try to import the file.
I would really like to include this video in the presentation I am giving to a potential funder tomorrow so can anyone recommend a product I can use? I am using XP Pro.
Thanks in advance.
Angela

Hi
Please will you show me details about your original video file, such as the format and codecs used.
To do this it's easy to use MediaInfo and post the result here.
Get MediaInfo from here:-http://mediainfo.sourceforge.net/enNever interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake.0 -
MediaCoder looks as thought it can convert Real Video to Windows Media Video.
( Read this before installing it : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MediaCoder )
I have HandBrake installed myself, but I don't think it handles either of those formats.0 -
Quick Time Pro can trim MP4 files, but it's about £20. Obviously you'd need to convert the file to mp4 first.0
