balance transfer from an amex card

I need to do a balance transfer from my amex card, applied for a Natonwide card back in November for this purpose, waited 2 months for my card chasng it up numerous times and have just been told they cant do balance transfer from Amex. Apparently very few credit card companies can!

So Im hoping somebody here knows of one that does? Ive not got a very good credit rating either if that helps

I have an Amex card with and recently did a transfer of £32,000 from it onto a Vanquis card no problems at all.

False. Vanquis does not allow balances transfers from other lenders.

It did, but he obviously wasn't clear on Vanquis' balance transfer policy. :p

Have you thoguht of getting an SBT card and transferring money to your current account. Then you can use switch or whatever to pay off your AMEX.
Here's a list of cards that do SBTs.
