Natwest PPI claim - advice needed please

I took out a loan with Natwest in 2005 and didn't realise I had been paying PPI so I decided to claim for this. They received my first letter on 22nd October and sent me the usual letters from Ben Ryan and the like. When the eight weeks were up a few weeks ago, I phoned them and they said my claim was showing as "ready to work" and I would have a decision in a few weeks. Then I received a letter from "Ben" telling me that they needed more time so I phoned them again and they said they couldn't understand why I had been sent this letter as my claim was "ready to work". It is now twelve weeks and I still don't know what is going on. Has this happened to anyone else? Should I just be patient or should I threaten them with the FOS?

Any advice would be appreciated.

    Hello and welcome.

I am wondering if there really is a BEN RYAN, because lots on here have posted about the same sort of thing here. And when people have asked to speak to him, suddenly he's never available, something like that.
I would write a quick letter to remind them its been 12 weeks more than ample time to deal with this matter, and your given them 7-14 days max to receive a decision or its off to the FOS.

Good luck, please let us know how you get on, cheers.;)

  • Thanks very much for the reply.

I have received a letter today in which Natwest refuse to accept that I was mis-sold the policy but they are returning all premiums paid plus interest - a total of £1219!

    Very happy.
