Lack of fivers in the world

I'm sick and tired of paying for small items with a tenner, and getting back 9 pound coins and shrapnel. The BofE should bloomingwell put enough fivers in circulation.

arghhhhhhh

Oh, and we should bring back pound notes whilst were at it. And proper coins that feel like proper money with value.

    I'm the opposite - I don't like notes.
The ability of skinny old ladies to carry huge loads is phenomenal. An ant can carry one hundred times its own weight, but there is no known limit to the lifting power of the average tiny eighty-year-old Spanish peasant grandmother.

Argh, but ladies have purses and handbags. Purses are designed for coins and handbags can carry stuff.

Us fella's have to use wallets, with only limited coin space. And it weighs down pockets and spoils the cut of a trouser.

A roll of notes for each transaction, yeh, thats what we need.

Is there any reason why a bloke can't carry some kind of handbag?

My DH has a bumbag that he wears all the time - contains his filofax, his mobile, wallet, bits and pieces, and separate section for change. And being a teacher he always has about 20 pens on him in his shirt/jacket pocket too! The bumbag has saved him pain on many an occasion when unruly pupils have tried to knee him.

You actually put coins in your wallet?

The problem isnt the number that are printed but the fact that cash machines dont dispense them so going into a small shop or bar (the few places people actually use cash regularly these days) everyone pays with a £10/ £20 note and so the tills quickly run out of £5s

Ive found that in some cash machines, if you skip the main screen that asks you what you want to take out and use the 'other amount's screen them some will allow you to take out a £5.

And on the rare occassion you get a fiver, it's tatty. The number of dirty tatty fivers publicans have given me is beyond the pale. Have people no respect for the Queen ?

One publican tried pushing a scottish note on me the other day. Wow there son, I said. Not having that. The last straw.

Get yourself to sunny Hell Hull if you'd like to be bombarded with filthy, stinkin, tatty fivers. I don't think there's any other denomination in circulation here.

Seems to me like fivers are going the same way as oncers did, It's inflation; so are we on the path to a £5 coin?

I was given £8.81 in coins the other day in the bakers as change for a tenner and I could clearly see fivers in the till.I think they must hold them back for whingers who don't like £1 nuggets.

A bigger gripe of mine is 2p coins.
Huge great heavy worthless things they are.
What is the point of them?

Whats up with a scottish note? They are perfectly legal tender - though I know some shops refuse to take the £20's due to lots of forgeries
