Sekonda watch battery change - HELP!

I have a Sekonda water resistant (to 50 metres) watch which has stopped. Obviously it's the battery - so the back has to be removed ...
I've tried a sharp knife to 'pop' it off
Or pressing my thumbs on the back to unscrew
Nothing moves
Does anyone know how to get in to change it?

It's likely to be a screw back if it's water resistant and pressing your thumbs on the back will not work! If you can't do it take it to someone who can. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

I was hoping for an easy (cheap!) solution rather than line the pockets of a shop.
Well if you could post a picture, may be able to advise. It should be fairly obvious if it's a screw back because there will be notches or small holes in the back to allow a tool to unscrew it.

There's no hint of a grip for a tool on the back plate
here it is:0 -
Looks like I'll have to visit a watch shop0

Well that is not a screw back! If you look around the edge of the back, you should see at some point, a small recess where a blade can be put to pop it off.

Also, you will need to be very careful when taking the back off. As there will be a very thin rubber seal that ensures no water penetration into the mechanism case. Unless you want to be replacing the whole watch sometime in the non too distant future, I would advise taking it to a watch repairers who will have the correct tools for the job. Make sure however they do or are capable of repairing that particular brand of watch and guarantee their work afterwards. Otherwise send it directly off to sekonda, the repair centeres telephone numbers will be on the paperwork that accompanied the watch.
HTHIt could have been worse. At least source code's not combustible, or you can bet somebody at McAfee would have lit it.0
