I think they charged for cars last year too as i remember emailing them for tickets and looking at the website for details and saw though the tickets were free they charged for cars:)

No they didnt charge anything for cars, the tickets that where given out as free were car tickets. If you got charged then im afraid you were scammed. £35 isnt too bad if you can get a mini bus load of you together.

The red bull air race is being held at Longleat in Wiltshire. Last year tickets were free but i think that due to them being sold on ebay for hundreds of pounds they have put a charge of £35 per car

So the scumbag touts have spoilt it for us all...what a surprise. How long before other events follow suit I wonder...all because of a few greedy people!

Goodwood Festival of Speed 2007 most probably- and there are members (touts) of this board advocating selling the free Sunday Times tickets on ebay- see the Goodwood thread under the freebees section.

I really hate posts like this.

So what some one is making money on something.

If you can make money by selling something on and cutting your debt do it. If you can make a few extra pounds do it. I sold my ticket last year for £60, I really wanted to go but I had to pay some bills, its a shame its no longer free, but it was a random raffle last year.

I bought 2 on ebay last year, paid £40...wasnt worth that......but dont have a problem with touts....just supply and demand....price only gets silly if people are prepared to pay silly money

No - someone is taking hard earned cash off someone else- and ensuring that free tickets for those who genuinely want then probably won't be available in future.
  • Well I went last year and really didn't enjoy it. We were really far away from the action and to be honest, once you've seen one plane go round you've seen 'em all. Getting out was horrendous too, a long walk back to the car, queuing for ages at a bottleneck, getting shoved and crushed. Then another 30 minute wait to get out of the carpark, engines overheating etc. It was steaming hot too, with nowhere to shade and it goes on forever. Thought they would make more of an event out of it and maybe like someone else said have some activities/stalls or someone doing entertainment but there was nothing. Save your pennies, and whatever you do, don't take the kids.
    It's definitely not definately!
  • It would make more sense to go to to the zoo enjoy all the animals etc and then stand behind where the house is and watch the airshow from there. I wish i had done that last year. Completely bored for about 4 hours till the show started. Might go to a place that's locally known as 'heavens gate' which looks over the safari park and watch the show from there for free.
