who to approach for disabled parking on camp

Options
I know its nothing to do with money but our garrison has no disabled parking, nothing outside med ctre, naafi, families building.
Its terrible sometimes you have to park 200 metres away from the building and in the winter we're having its even worse, they havent even kept the steps clear so i have cancelled my doctors appt because there is no way i'm chancing it as walking sticks won't support me.

To think in this day and age they would have at least 1 disability parking spot for essential buildings isnt asking for much. Who do i need to contact about this, so far i got from our families office well if you have an accident dont worry you can sue, i dont care i'd rather not have the accident in the first place as my bone condition makes it 10 times worse than a normal person.
Advice anyone?

    Strong,

Our medical centre has 2 disabled spaces right outside of the door.

I guess if you have an issue getting into the medical centre, you should arrive by car and request assistance from the front desk, be if from sending someone in, or making a telephone call.

Im sure that once the WO1 has been dragged outside to help you, that them steps will be looking pretty clear from ice & snow within minutes..

    Regards,

  • Try the Army Families Federation, who state:

AFF are often pivotal in achieving improvements for Army families such as changes to Government and military policy and changes to the delivery of how things are provided for families. The AFF does not do this by itself; our role is to highlight problems to the chain of command or service providers, and to work with them and other agencies to improve the support they provide to Service families.

Also, the MOD have a very strong Safety, Health and Environmental policy.
Find out who is responsible for Health and Safety on the establishment and lay out your concerns - in writing! Keep all responses for future reference, as you may end up in a long drawn out process.

    Good luck :D.

  • Have you tried speaking to the camp Quartermaster's Dept?
From Starrystarrynight to Starrystarrynight1 and now I'm back...don't have a clue how!

our welfare office say tuff no need for one and its unfair on others wanting to park, got an illigelly parked notice put on car because i parked outside medical ctre, hubby just took it in to the reception and said tuff. its a garrison so theres more than one quartermaster for each area.
    will try AFF

A Garrison should have an HQ and it's own QM and RQMS.
Does your Garrison have an AWS office? They may be able to help point you in the right direction. Or a HIVE?

H&S officer on our camp deals with those issues; perhaps speaking to someone within H&S department might help?
