Apparantly the NAT settings are closed, they can be set open, but you can't do it with Sky. (Something about an encrypted code which you need but Sky won't give it)

I don't know a thing about it, that's just the info OH has picked up from the net and on talking to someone at Sky.
See this thread here, you spoke to the wrong person at Sky! Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -

Fantastic! OH will be very pleased once I show him all that ~ thanks very much!!
P.S. He only spoke to someone at Sky last night, but OH said he sounded young (ish), so maybe he didn't have a clue what OH was talking about.
Thanks once again! :TTank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
hehe sounds very much like your OH got through to the script monkeys them employ at level one of customer support who really do not know anything about computers or anything really (unless you are really lucky)
the onyl other thing with lag could be down to your ping being bad because of bad line quality/distance from exchange - this is more difficult to identify and fix however this could be solved through cable as it uses a differnt technology
but let us know how it goes once you have opened your ports on your routerDrop a brand challenge
on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)0 -

Will do, unless OH beats me to it and showers this thread with massive sloppy kisses! :rotfl:Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
-1,000,000,000 votes for Virgin from me. If they were the ONLY broadband provider, I would use Dial-up
Personally I am with BT, no problems as yet so can not comment on customer service. I hear O2 are about the best, I would be with them but not in my area yetThere are 10 kinds of people that understand binary
Those that do
Those that dont
