Free iPod Shuffle

Advertising from Lloyds TSB will mean you getting a free iPod Shuffle when you sign up to their student account. It will say while stocks last so book yourself into a meeting at your local branch now.
I went to sort out my student account and they told me to come back later as they will have a new offer, and they showed me the advertising posters they will be putting up.
but i think the rail card offer will disappear with a national express bus pass instead, but dont quote me on that.

dani_b i think the reason u havent had as many replies to this post as u had expected is because i have already posted this post about 2 weeks ago.0

Thanks for posting this however people should take note of the fact that you can't usually open more than one student account if you declare any others, the banks are also starting to check up with each other. This means an end to grabbing all the deals so you need to choose the best.
The Shuffle is better than some of Lloyds previous gimmicks, when I started uni they offered a free popcorn maker and charged interest on student overdrafts. It is probably not the best deal for students planning to use trains while at uni as the 5 year railcard HSBC and Natwest are offering is worth a lot more than the value of an iPod Shuffle.
Lloyds do offer an attractive student account now with £1500 interest free overdraft but for a non-railcard student account I would go with RBS who offer £55 for opening the account and further money for introducing friends, this is only available for first times first year students. RBS also offer a low £10/month unauthorised overdraft fee as opposed to Lloyds £30/day (oof course thee can be claimed back but that takes time.0 -

i started this thread in June, look at the date of my post. i posted it because i found this out before the advertising came out, helping fellow moneysavers keep ahead of the rest.0 -
does it matter who said it first, or whether or not hundreds of people say thanks?!!? people tend to give advice because they think it will help, not to become showered with praise for it...................
dani_B - the info you gave was very helpful, but the attitude about it seems somewhat unwarrented.............
for anyone who is interested in the orginal offer, here is a link to all the information:happyhear0
