Hi
I am getting a plumber in to install a mixer shower in my bathroom. I have both a hot and cold water pipes sticking out the wall in the desired location (ends are capped off). I have a triton mixer shower and just need someone to fit it.. seems simple enough - how much would a decent plumber charge for a job like this?
thanks

It would depend on the pipes sticking out of the being the correct centers, if they are not then they would have to be altered, extra cost.
If they are correct then a fair price would be £45-£80, it all depends on your area.0 -
Hello - Mr A is a plumber, and he doesn't charge silly prices, he's very honest! I'll ask him when he gets in if you like.My sig's too large, apparently - so apologies to whoever's space I was taking up.:lipsrseal0

seems simply, classic statement,if the pipes have to be altered will it effect the tiling,if so can you get the same tiles. If you are fitting exactly the same model then no problemTo be happy you need to make someone happy.0

Mr A is home, he says if it is a simple case of fitting the shower, with no other tiling work etc, it would be maximum two hours work - so depends on the hourly rate of plumbers in your area.My sig's too large, apparently - so apologies to whoever's space I was taking up.:lipsrseal0

just to add on.. had a plumber out who said he would have to take off the two tiles in the surroundign area -it was just tiled last week
- and fit a bracket to behind the wall (as it is a stud wall) then retile etc etc.. this seem right?
thanks again!0 -

If it is a surface mounted shower valve then there would be no need to fit a bracket behind the tiling., the only reason the remove a tile would be to alter the centers of the incoming pipes, but usualy only need to alter 1 pipe.
Are you sure it's not a built-in shower valve you have?0
