Can anyone recommend the best place to purchase power steering fluid, particularly CHF11S. I'll need about 2 litres of it (possibly more) and it's bloody expensive? Halfords are asking £15 for one litre, although I have a trade card so I'll get a little bit of that price but it's still dear.

Edit: Just found this additional info.

My leaky power steering pump is being replaced this friday and I've been buying the parts required for the job. Apparently I need to use a special type of fluid called CHF 11s which is green and notthe red ATF stuff which will ruin the seals. Halfords are charging about £15 per litre and I need about two.

However on another forum they recommend using LHM+ for Citroens as they say it's the same stuff except slightly thinner. It's certainly a lot cheaper. I've copied a comparison table from the other forum and would appreciate your opinions please before I buy.

Characteristics.....Units.....LHM+......Pentosin CHF 7.1....Pentosin CHF11S Colour.............................Green.....Green ...................Green

How much is a replacement power steering pump?

I see two litres of the 'proper' stuff is £30. How much is the 'alternative'?

For something less than £30, probably much less than £30, you are apparently planning to risk having to replace the pump again?

What is the cost of replacing the pump (a second time)?

By answering the above questions, you will be able to make a rational decision.
