This might be an interesting topic!! Over the past few weeks we have almost completely run down our larder/store cupboard/freezer to the point that we desperately need to restock it. If you only had £50 to spend at Mr T's - what would you buy?0

Hi little vics,
You should get more help with this on the Food Shopping & Groceries board where there are a number of similar threads with good ideas. It's also worth taking a look through the current threads on that board to see what bargains are about at the moment.
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com.

Hi,
Pretty much the same here, but I would get dried pulses, cheaper, last longer, not so heavy to carry home, cook half a pack at a time and freeze.Ebay 13

Do you have to go to Mr T ? Do you have option of Asda, Lidl or Aldi, Netto or Farmfoods. Your £50 would go a lot further spent in these stores. Have a look at the what to buy threads.0

I don't do a planner so to speak but we generally have chilli once a week (enough left over for one freezer meal and one lunch), pork chops, potaoes and veg once a week, homemade soup and sandwiches once per week, roast chicken or beef once per week and then another meal made from the leftovers, something in the slow cooker another night, might be sweet and sour chicken, barbeque ribs, ham in cola, lamb leg. Generally have one night where we eat out or get a take away or just don't eat coz we're in the pub drinking (Saturday afternoon/evening).GC Jan £318/£350, Feb £221.84/£300, Mar £200.00/£250 Apr £201.05/£200 May £199.61/£200 June £17.25/£200

Me and Pint (OH) do a weekly shop, but ours usually varies. Sometimes it'll go by what's reduced or on offer. Usually get chicken, pork, mince or even lamb mince if it's on offer. Can be anything from sweet and sour chicken/pork, lamb or beefburgers (homemade), meatballs (homemade - put a bit of bacon in, they're yummy!) chilli, spag bol/lasagne** Total debt: £6950.82 ± May NSDs 1/10 **** Fat Bum Shrinking: -7/56lbs **
**SPC 2012 #1498 -£152 and 1499 ***
I do it all because I'm scared.
