Kitchen fitting price (sorry, I know, another one !)

I know, I know, but slightly different

I have bought a kitchen from Wren, delivered last week, all looks fine so far

Units already made up, no assembling

Room is empty, just been re-plastered

NO electrical or plumbing work

NO worktop

All joiners need to do is ......

Fit 2 X 600 larder units (one with integrated 50/50 Fridge Freezer, other boiler)

Fit custom fit panel for integrated washing machine and door

install 8 x base units, including integrated dishwasher + oven housing
install 6 x wall units

Two of the base units need cutting round a chimney at the back, so not straight forward

They have to make the base unit for my Belfast sink, as Wren didn't sell one in my chosen design, but I have bought all the panels and doors required.

I am in Lincoln

Quote for joiners was £1400, said it would take then bit over a week !!

Seemed a lot, but looking for suggestions

I have another joiner coming Saturday, and two more I am thinking about calling

Many thanks,

Paul

That sounds very expensive to me ,how can that work take more than 1 week ???

Get some more quotes, i give myself ,on my own 3-5 days to fit a full kitchen including worktops mitred ,that is normally flat packs also to make up.

I wouldn`t pay half that price.
  • You could try http://www.123getaquote.co.uk/formulaires/act383-24-request-a-quote-kitchen-fitting.htm... this is a site that gets quotes from fitters for you , thats all depending there are any registered ones in your area... I got a personal joiner to do mine a few yrs agao and he charged me £500.00!! and a few bits i had to buy AnD EXTRA FOR MY GAS COOKER FITTED BY A CORGI REGISTERED fitter .. So i got a bargain , he did a brilliant job

No way can that take more than 2 days. Might need 2 men for the larder units but even so shouldnt be more than £500 to £600 at the very most. If it was local to me id be looking at charging £400 tops.

    Hi Paul,

We recently had our flat pack ikea kitchen put together and fitted by a local joiner for £600 (8 base units, 2 floor to ceiling units and 2 wall cabinets and a solid oak work top).

I live just up the road in S!!!!horpe so you should be able to get similar prices. Get 3 quotes from local joiners and Im sure you will get a better price then £1400.

I would reccommend the chap I used but unfortunately he was supposed to come back and do a couple of tweaks for us and wont return my calls grrr!

    Good luck
    Lisa
