yes, yes and no (provided that you mean domain as opposed to workgroup). No harm in running it anyway, it doesn't take long..Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0

yes and no? good answer
Yes i mean domain not workgroup..
I know its quick to run but I have to annoy the guy who's laptop it is first to let me do something on it..
Other option is i email him the file and tell him to run it.. not hard i suppose, even for just a cabling guy[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."

(sorry for the flame.. he's been an annoying *person* at the moment....)

point him here:

see
"Duplicate SIDs aren't an issue in a Domain-based environment since domain accounts have SID's based on the Domain SID."
Personally, I always prefer to do it though, as you never now what bugs are lurking in Windows when you have identical clones linked together on a network, and they may be linked in a workgroup in future.Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0 -
lol how funny.. showed him the article.. told him the deal.. he looked at me blankly and said "i dont care i still want it done"
I started on monday, its a summer experience job, and im *THIS* close to quitting.. ive spent the week installing xp on machines and sitting on msn.. ye.. great job..[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."

I would have said "why"? Maybe he would have said "because".
Depends whether you need the money I suppose..most PC support jobs are the same. Boring and repetetive at times.Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0 -
im getting paid less than minimum wage
Its purely an experience job to build my experience of working with my uni degree within the business. Its good to have this experience on my cv, and i look forward to my 1 year placement, but to be honest, ive near maxed out me student overdraft, im getting paid sod all, and im sittin around on msn every day doing nothing...
i dont mind boring and repetitive jobs if im gettin paid well but ye.. if nothing changes by the end of next week i'm gna have to seriously think things through...
P.S: As i walked away after he said "i dont care i still want it done" he explained to me how even though they'll connect they won't work properly.... meh, "good practice" would have been a better answer haha[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."

My work experience was just as bad. It will be the same wherever you go, unless you are very lucky and get a demanding role with a good mentor who has time to look after you properly.
There are two things you can't choose in life, family, and colleagues (unless you are the boss). So don't let him upset you too much.
You always think that you know everything when you are young, but you can always learn from older people, and they can get upset if a youngster who "knows it all" comes in trying to tell them how to do their job. When you get older, you'll probably be the same.. so take that into account before you walk out.Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0 -
why dont you just sysprep them and that will regenerate the SIDs as unique0
