Hi, Lost my spare keys and Jaguar have quoted me........wait for it.....£220 for a new key fob. What a rip off. There are Jag key fobs on Ebay and also on Ebay you can buy instructions on how to reprogramme.. Anyone used these? - are they ok and if this works will it operate the immobiliser correctly too? How about the companies advertising on the net who come to your house and replace the key fob and reprogramme - is this secure? They know where the car is and they know the key details - am I being paranoid. Many, many thanks for any help and advice.

Thats your first problem I'm afraid. they are very expencive remotes, an auto locksmith should still be cheaper than Jaguar but many (myself included ) wont touch second hand remotes from ebay. a lot are faulty or just plane wrong. have a ring around and look for someone ALA or ICl if possible. I think your last comment is a little paranoid I have the ability to open most peoples houses and make new keys for there car but it costs a LOT of money and time /effort to use it all. people who go on the rob usually just nick your keys;)
