Hi,

i recently tried to apply for a tescos credit card for some extra points, but i got rejected. i think the reason is because i have 2 addresses, the thing is my mum registered me on the electoral roll ages ago on one address for about 5-6 years now, and my bank is with a different address for over 10 years!

i also have a barclays student credit card with 800 pounds limit which i have not missed a payment for almost 2 years. and it was recently increased from 400 pounds to 800 pounds (i did this online with a click on my accounts page). so my credit rating must be pretty decent for them to accept the increase online?

my question is should i change it so that my electoral roll and bank is on the same address? if so which should i change?

do i need to change address on my credit score agency? or do they update automatically.

thank you very much!
Arnold

my question is when i check my credit score with creditexpert should i change my address to my electoral roll one? at the moment its my bank one on CreditExpert.co.uk.

or better yet should i change my bank address to the electoral roll one or vice versa? so they are the same.

    thank you very much!

No point in checking your credit score with credit expert, unless you are on a free trial. These scores have no bearing whatsoever on wether a company will find you creditworthy or not. They are simply a way for Experian to make money. Your post is not 100% clear, but I assume you are no longer living with your mum? If that is the case, then get yourself on the electoral roll at the address that you are living at. Also, change all the accounts you hold to the address you are living at. Then when you have done all this and you apply for new credit, you can input your actual address and it should save any confusion for the credit card companies.

thanks for the reply. sorry about my post not being clear it's a bit of confusing situation (i changed my 1st post to try and make it less confusing).

bascially i want to keep my address with my parents as i'm still at uni and will move about a lot for a while.

however, my mum registered me on electoral roll (5-6 years) on one address, and bank on a different address (10 years). so i just want to know if i should put electoral roll and bank on the same address?

if so which should i change? and do i need to change my address on Experian and equifax?
