Feeling low, because of the SNOW!

Yep - this Bliddy snow is getting me right down! I had BIG plans for January and now i feel like i have just totally lost the reigns!
I was going to go with my Mum to sales and try to get all my centrepiece things.....havent done it cos of ..... the snow! We are totally snowed in - have only been able to get to work one whole day (over two days lol!) out of the last two weeks! And i having to use ALL my annual leave which i had saved specially so i could go have dress shopping days off in next month or so....i hate saturday shopping cos i get SO stressed and i didnt want to feel like that when dress shopping especially.... Also, i was going to start a big diet in January once i got back to work (last week) so i could find it easier to avaid temptation at home etc....but yes, thats right, the snow has kept me at home so i have been eating.....cold, boredom, manic child who NEEDS to go back to school to burn off energy (but cant cos of....yep - snow!) all not conducive to me losing weight!!!!
SO i have probably put ON weight in the last two weeks and as i am getting married in October this year, all dress shops have said i MUST get my dress chosen by March at the very latest .....but i wanted to try and get down a dress size before i was trying on as i am very down about being a "fat bride".....i hate my weight but eat if i am not out and around, busy! I know you can get dress taken down a couple of sizes so i can keep going with the weight loss, BUT what happens if i choose a dress which cannot be altered (i really LOVE princess style, big tulle (??) skirt type dresses) and am so worried if i have to buy it in a large size, then lose weight, i will end up with a dress that cannot be altered and have to either get rid of dress or wear it and look stupid/have altered at risk of it not looking good!!!!

Argghhhhhh! Rant over (sorry) :o
Baldrick, does it have to be this way? Our valued friendship ending with me cutting you up into strips and telling the prince that you walked over a very sharp cattle grid in an extremely heavy hat?

I know how you feel. I have clients due who's weddings are pretty close but until they can get to me there is nothing that can be done! Kids are home from school so I have to work on things that aren't so intricate and needing concentration!
Snow was beginning to melt, this morning we had black ice and most of schools in region shut. Now it's snowing again! Only thing I hope for with this is we have a flammin belter of a summer!!
  • thanks ladies - its just really getting me down. I had totally planned that January would be THE month to get stuff sorted out and i just feel totally deflated now

Hopefully it will be gone soon, I'm in Yorkshire and there hasn't been much here. Could you maybe start planning things on the interent?
Do you know what kind of centre pieces you want? Maybe google images and make notes for when you are shopping? I'm stuck in bed ill at the mo so have been getting lots of ideas together for when I can get to Manchester to start organising things with my mum. get one of the inspiration boards together with dessy, if you can get it to save, mine won't! I have filled OH's favourites file with all things wedding, if I don't get out of bed soom it will all be planned and I'll have nothing to do the rest of the year but pay for it!

A lot of places are extending their sales around here because they are not getting any customers, maybe the same near you?

Or they are on final reductions, I usually do my sale shopping about this time and get the years wardrobe and beyond for about £200. When yo finally get out you will find some amazing bargains and be so pleased you stayed in the warmth
  • I feel at a bit of a loss at the minute - I can have my wedding day off but work might not let me have anytime off after that so I may not get a honeymoon! That'll be nice for H2B - honeymooning alone!
    Bump due 22nd September

Hi i know how you feel in a way so sending you big hugs. Try to get out for a walk if you cant go shopping and try not to eat if you feel down. Do your nails or some pampering instead. I know I am behind too and wedding is in April. Hope the snow melts soon so you can go and find your dress.
