My friend's son (2 1/2) has a blankie - luckily a bog standard yellow cellular cot blanket. He used to drag in everywhere and it was always filthy. Sh ebought another one, but as he's got older, she's cut them smaller. Now he carts a piece about the size of a man's hankie around. Still sucked to death but at least you're not tripping over it.
She tells me she had hers till she was 25

My cousin-in-law apparently went throguh her toddler years clutching various peices of hanky sized satin, which her mum used to edge for her. For some reason all this type of fabric was known as "biddy" and she thinks it was because of the soft silky feel. Even now, at nearly 30, she still has "biddy" bedspreads, inculding a travel one she takes on holidays with her!Post Natal Depression is the worst part of giving birth:p
