Notification requirement of criminal charge

I do hope someone might be able to advise me?
We are insured (buildings and contents) with Tesco. Their t&c state that they must be informed if a family member is prosecuted or convicted for a criminal offence.
Does this mean that as soon as a person (my 17 year old son for this question) is given a court date that I should notify Tesco, or do I wait until/if he is found guilty (under the presumption of innocent until proven...)?
I am absolutely distraught with worry about him and only want to do the right thing.

The simple answer is to give your insurers a call to see what they say - different insurers have different disclosure requirements.0

Well it does say prosecuted, so you should abide by that.0

What's he alleged to have done? If he just got in a fight on a Friday night, that would be regarded differently from an offence of dishonesty.0

Thanks. He is in court on Friday so I'll tell the insurers then.0
