Hi, Hope someone can help.
My partner works full time on a self employed basis and is out of work and has been for 4 weeks. I'm not currently working and we have 2 children of school age.
It is likely that he will be back at work next week but this isnt for definate.
Is their anything that we can claim? At the moment we get around £80 in tax credits, thats the only income we've had all the while he's out of work. We cant pay the rent this week and have no money at all, we've been borrowing money from the inlaws to get us this far.
Thanks in advance for replies :j

If you think he may well not be working at all or less than 16 hours a week then he could put in a claim for couples Job Seekers Allowance.
You could also apply for housing/council tax benefit.
Also have you kept tax credits up to date with any changes of circumstances financially as you might be entitled to more money.0 -
Can I ask why you have waited four weeks to do anything about this? I don't want to sound rude but if the chances are that he will be back at work next week, then in theory he wont be eligible to claim anything.fannyannie wrote: »Hi, Hope someone can help.
