Hello all !
I was at an interview yesterday but decided to leave during it when they wanted me to to do a "5 min speech on a fictional law" - will I have my JSA stopped for this ?
Please help

Out of curiosity, could I ask you what prompted the walk-out and what the job is? Did you have a crisis of confidence because of the pressure or did you find the request insulting, for example? Were you informed if there would be any kind of presentation or testing required by yourself in advance of the interview. If you had have been told that you would be required to give a brief speech on a topic given on the day, would you have wanted to attend it?0

It was insurance sales and there was 7 people attending the interview and there was no prior warning to this because if there was then i wouldnt have attended the interview0

How will the Job Centre know? Do you plan to tell them?0

Personally I would have my doubts about the integrity of a company that wanted you prove that you could make things up as you went along in order to gain a sale - because that's what I read into them setting you this task. To ask you to talk for minutes on a genuine subject, or on a subject that you had been fully briefed about (albeit fictional) would be fair enough IMO, but this smacks of proving that you are able to mislead rather than convince.Eat food. If you applied for the job through the Jobcentre you could have problems but if you applied by some other method you should not have a problem.0 -

Yes I think so because the Jobcentre can and do check up on jobs you have applied for through them but not jobs you have applied for elsewhere.0
