loopy-lass do you know wnyone who knows about PCs?
Even if you buy a new external drive you still have to get the data off the old one. If you knwo someone who's knowledgable they could take the actual drive out of the existing case and aither put the driv ein your PC or put it in a caddy so you can use it.It's my problem, it's my problem

hi guys (generic term ;-))
thanks for your info,.. i dont know what you mean with all the sata etc, at the moment i am on an ergo notebook, and my other is a compaq notebook from asda so my guess is when i need a new computer it will be a basic one as i only look on internet, write letter, mess about with photos and use itunes for my ipod.
i have found this one http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00238KZPM/ref=ord_cart_shr?_encoding=UTF8&m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE sorry dont know how else to paste a link...
ive looked at the one recommended on here and it looks good but only the 1tb.. due to price.
and i dont know anyone who knows about computers so i would have to take it to a shop,.. i thought if i bought this one and plugged them both (once old one decides it might work (intermittant)) and drag everything off old one onto new one. is this not an option?
thanks loopsTHE CHAINS OF HABIT ARE TOO WEAK TO BE FELT UNTIL THEY ARE TOO STRONG TO BE BROKEN... :A0 -

That will certainly do the required job LL, cheaper than my suggestion also, but no e-Sata - but it's not a prerequisite
