  • "said I would need to put it in writing"

This is a breach of FSA regulations (or at least it used to be) if they insist you put it in writing. A customer can complain to a bank in any format, I am not sure if this changed when treating customers fairly came in but I would think not.

If someone is contacting you from the complaints team then clearly you don't need to put it in writing. However I would advise doing this as you have no proof of anything discussed or agreed over the telephone.

your standing orders wont show on your statements as they never actually left your account
  • Same thing happened to me with DD's bank returned DD's even though apparently within OD limit stating I had insufficient funds due to unprocessed debit card payments! But why are these unprocessed payments not shown in balance? coz it makes the banks easy money!!

Get text alerts if you can as this seems only way to find out about when about to go over limit from unprocessed debit card payments.
