  • Pap - Dr's are a pain in the hoop on occasions. One told me to have kids as that should help balance my hormones, I asked if they came free with the NHS, which thankfully he found amusing!! I let him off as he was rather yummy! ;-)

SRM - have you tried Octopus travel? They've got a good selection of hotels on there and at goodish rates too.

Pap, I've PM'd you (just some general encouraging waffle :D), but wanted to just mention, although I'm not saying the doctor is wrong, a stone a month is about right for the Cambridge Diet.

Wish I could lose a stone in a month *sigh* Am now 15lbs over the weight I like me at. Not overweight but it just doesn't feel right for me, plus it's all around my waist which is bad. Must get motivated to move more.

PAP, only you know if the Dr is right as you know your health needs.

Just had porridge - comfort food.
    It's still snowing.

Silly question, how do I make porridge? I have some porridge oats and quite fancy some...x

I do 1 cup of oats to 2 cups of milk/water (whichever, or a mixture), then bung in the microwave - usually for 2 mins, then stir, then another 2, then stir again - test, add a bit more liquid if needed, bung back in for another minute if needed.

Can add salt/sugar/honey/dried fruit etc to taste.

It's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.
  • Well done Linda!
