Problems with Refund from Megabus

Back in Dec I booked 4 Seats with Megabus for travel on Jan 7th but just before Christmas i changed it to Jan 5th and Paid a £1 to change it.
Well on the day of travel Jan 5th Meagbus cancelled our service so said we could get a refund so the lady on the phone did the refund for the £1(fee for changing booking from jan 7th to Jan 5th) and i said to her what about the other £28 and was told that i would have to e mail them with the details and the reason why we could not travel(it was cancelled by them) so i said i would e mail them but im still waitting to hear back from them as i sent the e mail on Jan 7th to them.
The trouble is i sent the e mail from there website so dont have a copy of the e mail to prove that i did e mail them so i called them yesterday and was told that it takes up to 7 days to hear back from them.
I know that does not run out till Jan 14th but I am worried that they wont bother about it and i will lose out on getting my money back when it was not my fault that they cancelled the service.
Any advice on what to do and how long i should wait till i contact them again.

I'd give them the full 7 days, they're probably pretty busy at the moment if they have cancelled a lot of services due to the weather.0
