Hi, first time poster (i think).
Like everyone, I'm trying to see how we can increase our cash. Just taken some advice from the site and am going through a remortgage (should only reduce payments by 75 quid a month, but hey, it all counts I guess).
We've got two grand in an ISA and I'm wondering if that is the best place for it. Would it be wiser to invest rather than save? We're getting married in 12 months so, even if that two grand turned into 2200 or a bit more it would help a great deal. Any suggestions? We're willing to take a medium risk perhaps if it could be worth it.
Our daughters child bond has turned from 250 quid into 312 in a very short space of time. Could we set up something similar or is 2000 not enough?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

A period of one year is normally considered to be too short to consider investments.0 -
Ok, point taken.
On another note, after the wedding, or perhaps even before, we are looking to invest/save for that 'rainy day'. What is the minimum funds ideal to invest, and which is the best way to invest it?0 -
I'm presuming that you have enough for day to day expenses and you have an emergency cash fund of 6months in case of difficulty (to buy a washing machine when your's packs up etc)?
An ISA is probably a good place for other money you want to save. Make sure your ISA is paying you a decent rate though and switch if necessary (don't just close the account and start a new one).Making my money go further with MSE :j
