I had this error two days ago with my new refurbished 20gb ipod. After checking a number of sites and trying different methods, I found that the fault was due to the connection to the PC. I moved the USB cable from a connection at the front of the PC to one of the connections at the back and everything worked fine. Maybe your problem could be something this simple. No, I have a home-build system, but whatever info I found on the net referred me to a connection/USB problem. I'll have a look and see if I can find it again for you, there might have been other suggestions with it.:jI gave up jogging for health reasons; my thighs rubbed together and my knickers caught fire!0
