    Ehhh

You want to be able to upload a say word document and it be viewable online as part of a web page?
I dont know of anything that allows that at the moment. The reason you can do it with photos and adobe acrobat files is that there is an addition to the web browser that allows them to be opened in the browser. PDF files only open if you have acrobat installed on your pc. maybe office 2007 will have that as an option but It would mean the default application for opening the type of document changing from word to the browser whihc I dont think will be very popular for some reason.

Microsoft do this utility to view Word files. There are other download links for other office components on the page. If you don't have Microsoft office then there is always Open office 2. There is a current topic in the techie forum here.

You could the save the document as HTML and publish to a web site. This and other options are mentioned at http://www.ioe.ac.uk/brian/pubWord.htm.

or you could zip\rar compress your file, then upload it to one of the free online storage sites such as:
    http://www.putfile.com/
    http://www.theupload.com/

    HTH
It could have been worse. At least source code's not combustible, or you can bet somebody at McAfee would have lit it.

Or Pdf. Probably much more consistent the html.

Google Cute Pdf Writer for a free pdf creator. It'll basically convert your document into a pdf. Chuck the pdf online and most people should be able to view it via a pdf viewer (like Adobe Acrobat).

If you have a Yahoo email account, (free), you get your own webpage "My Yahoo" this includes - or can - a briefcase facility. You can upload files to this and allow others access, if you want.

Simple answer is no it isnt possible, Internet explorer and other web browsers support the opening in html and some graphics files. browsers will only display PDF files in a browser window if you have acrobat reader installed. a word document isnt html but they can be saved as html and the formatting is pretty much retained just upload the html file to a web server ant it will display the page.

    click the Link

it isnt a good idea to distribute word documents anyway, they can contain macro viruses so some email filters remove them, PDF is a miles more popular format as lots of people have acrobat reader

If all you want to do is transfer files you can do this with an add-on to gmail or try streamload. The recipients should be able to view the files if they have the appropriate software or alternatively they can download 'viewers' for Word, Excle, Powerpoint etc. from the Micorosft site.

I have used this and have just checked, clicking on the name of the file opens it, as far as I can see. If others need to download to view, you could perhaps circumvent that by using the account for the sole purpose and giving out the user/password details??
