hii am not sure whether anyone can advise me please....i took over the tenancy of a flat yesterday and move in on saturday...it all went through unexpectedly quickly......i rang bt for a new telephine number for new place and to stop the number here.....i was told the new flat did have a line but because it had not been used for some time an engineer needed to come out - this will cost £125 which is fair enough but they cannot do it until 28th jan....i explained that i was off work with a broken arm - no sick pay as freelance and am due back at end of month and i am reliant on internet access etc - i am a market research interviewer and my work is downloaded onto my lap top and i send it back via the telephone line every night....i am sent work offers via email...these are offered in advance of couple of weeks....this is an absolute disaster for me - my only income etc....bt man said nothing could be done sooner snd they would call if could do it earlier....then i got a text on my mobile from bt saying my new appointment had beenchanged to the 2nd february........i dont know what to do - they have given me a new telephone number for new flat....can anyonwe advise please...also i live alone with a broken arm - i need a landline incase i might need help...many thanks apologies for left handed typing
i do appreciate there is a wait for bt engineer - but i am beside myself...i must get connected asp

  • See what the 3G coverage is like in your area. If good, you have an immediate solution and might not even need the phone line - you can use Skype for calls in the interim.
