Hi , intend to travel Belfast to Liverpool mid July for a few days and take my car. Could anyone recommend the most reasonable way to do this? Thanks

Peak holiday season here at that time and ferry companies know it, no idea on price but be sure and check a flight and car hire pricing against taking your's over on a ferry.Norn Iron Club member No 3530

Don't go Norfolkline, no matter how cheap it is. You have to park your car on the frickin roof and it feels like you're crossing the Irish sea in a bucket! I wouldn't go on it again if it was free. Didn't help that we were being chased by a Gale which had cancelled all the sailings behind us.
Stenaline have a bigger ferry, might be more expensive and I think it leaves from Larne but it would be far more comfortable. The stupid things you do, you regret... if you have any sense, and if you don't regret them, maybe you're stupid. - Katharine Hepburn0 -
The ONLY Belfast Liverpool ferry is Norfolkline, so you travel with the tesco groceries either all day or over night
P&O do a Dublin-Liverpool for £278 in July return for a car and 4 adults, leaves 9:30 and docks 5:30 that afternoon, may be worth the trip to Dublin, as the Stranrar to Liverpool car journey is a nightmare till you hit the motorways in England, the belfast scotland ferries won't be much cheaper that time of year either:oI am trying, honest;) very trying according to my dear OH:rotfl:0 -
The Stenaline one is Larne to Fleetwood (North of Liverpool), you can use your Tesco vouchers on Stena too.The stupid things you do, you regret... if you have any sense, and if you don't regret them, maybe you're stupid. - Katharine Hepburn0

Thanks, didn't know that:T is it an all dayer or over nighter too
EDIT: Just checked, 8 hours all day or over night £200 return for 4 adults and a carI am trying, honest;) very trying according to my dear OH:rotfl:0 -
Yes you can use Tesco vouchers but for some reason it tends to be more expensive when paying with vouchers so unless you can pay fully in voucher maybe better to hold onto vouchers and keep saving them up for next time.0

Norfolkline has been sold to DFDS so.........there may be changes!

Their ferry has an option to upgrade your cabin to one with a fridge & tv, handy if you're doing the day sailing.Norfolkline has been sold to DFDS so.........there may be changes!

Hopefully they'll change that bucket for something more proportional to an Irish sea crossing! The stupid things you do, you regret... if you have any sense, and if you don't regret them, maybe you're stupid. - Katharine Hepburn0 -
THe "buckets" were brand new ships in 2005 so a change is unlikely0
