I know it's not what you asked, but the Pontins at Southport can work out pretty good value.

For blackpool, if you've kids, the sandcastle is worth it. Just make sure that you plan the day so that you can really get VFM out of it. My kids spent three hours in the pool and I still had to drag them screaming out of it!! Make sure you have food outside before you go.

Also, for blackpool, check out the back of the P&D car park tickets, there are always some good offers there, partic for the ice shows etc.

Forget the pleasure beach, it is rip off extrodinaire in there now. £5 ticket just to "enjoy the ambience" ambience my ****!

You can use tesco clubcard vouchers for the Pleasure Beach, and also for the Tower, which is definitely a good day out.

We did the Sandcastle, kids were in there for hours and loved it. Found a discount voucher by googling.

We stayed at Marton Mere Haven Park on Sun £9.50 deal, didn't pay for entertainment passes so can't tell you what pool and shows were like! Caravan was fine though.
  • in my opinion, go to another haven but not blackpool. Ive never been to any of the bpool havens, but ive been to havens and ive been to blackpool. We had 2 young kids in blackpool, never again...was horrendous, so busy, everything so expensive u really will need a small fortune. We actually found the pools in haven to be much better than the blackpool sandcastle, it was very busy and dirty and the pools in havens have the same wave pools, water blasters etc. Also, there is so much already included in the price of a haven holiday, why bother to pay again by going into blackpool...anyway, thats just my opinion but we will never again take young kids there, turned into a very stressful time and we left early..x
