Its like insurance - you pay hundreds of pounds per year and most of the time never get any benefit but its not money wasted because you'll be glad you had it if something happens.
I can think of many cars that are unlikely to break down - most of the cars for sale today.

Which cars are they then? You only need to look at the Honest John website to see that pretty much every car has its problems - some more serious than others.
I dont think I've ever owned a car that hasn't had something go wrong with it even if it was only something minor.0
