OK, i am working in Word at the minute and am having a nightmare with page numbers!!!
The pages go 1, 2, 3 and 4, no problems there. But when i number my annexes:
A1 - 1
A1 - 2
A1 - 3
A1 - 4
Each Annex comes out A1 - 1 (or whatever i change the last digit too).
How can i make the annex numbers run in sequence?!

I've always found page numbering in Word a bit nightmarish. You have to get the page and section breaks right. However I don't really understand the problem as described.0

I have an 8 page document
Pages 1 - 4 are numbered 1, 2, 3 and 4
The remaining pages should be numbered:
A1 - 1
A1 - 2
A1 - 3
A1 - 4
but the last four pages kepp coming out as A1 - 1
Better? Or still still clear as mud?! lol!0 -
Entirely clear thanks. My guess is your annex needs to be a new section. Then you you have to insert page numbers to include the Chapter number. You would have to add the Chapter name such as Annex 1 and give it a heading format and I imagine you can than get it show as Annex 1 - 1 etc. Haven't tried it myself though.0

In the footer have the A1 as part of the footer and then start the page numbers. This should work fine.
Personally I would have either kept the numbers going to 8 or switched i,ii,ii etc0 -
This Google search gets many of the pages I would suggest you read!

ah! WHen you click on the header and footer:
On the first 4 pages you get "footer section 1"
And on the Annexes "footer section 2"
Cool, how the !!!! do you edit different footers!?!0 -
argh!!! When i click format, bullets and numbering, numbered. It automatically adds a "1" to each of the remaining 4 pages; the numbers do not run 1 - 4.
Why?!!!0 -
Done!!! What i did wasn't exactly correct, but it worked. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.0
