Hi folks,
I usually buy my memory from mymemory.com but the memory I supposedly need which is :::
Kingston 1GB MMC plus (15.98)
is out of stock. I need this card fairly handy so anyone know of any good suppliers of digital camera memory. ... Also is it essential that I get MMC plus memory and whats the differnce with and without the "plus".
Hope you techies can help me out.
Jules
PS As I am in a hurry for the memory I don't mind paying upto 20quid incl. delivery but no more. Has to be a channel islands company I guess to avoid the VAT.

have you tried FOFO... the polite version of which is 'google it'
i find it hard to believe that you even bothered to check because after one quick search i found:
http://www.photo-scotland.co.uk/acatalog/Multimedia_Cards.html?
the Kingston 1gb MMC plus £19.99 plus delivery.0 -
I did do a check .... just that the kelkoo and froogle search came up with companies I ain't heard of or am unsure about their reliabilty etc.Grocery Challenge 2008

Cheapest alternative I've found after more digging is 16.89 from w2w.com. Anyone used w2w b4????? Website looks ok. JulesGrocery Challenge 2008

Available here
Are you sure that you need MMC as this review site talks of SD memory cards as well as Multimedia cards.
HTH:doh: Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
I bought a casio exilim z600 last month and ordered this 1gb card for it and it works fine:
Peak 1gb
Not sure what the difference is between what you are after and thie others though.0 -
espresso ... thanks for the review link... I have managed to find a download of the manual and after reading it is compatable with SD cards and MMC cards. Also the manual mentions a minimum speed of 10MB/s data transfer rate. So it looks like I should be more techy in what I buy.
The guy in the review uses 133x Lexar SD mem. so I will look that up.
Thanks

I think I have figured out what I need !!!!! Article on understanding SD memory card speeds below
http://www.gadgetspage.com/cameras/understanding-sd-flash-memory-card-speeds.html
Data transfer rates:
# 4x: 600 KB/s
# 16x: 2.4 MB/s
# 40x: 6.0 MB/s
# 66x: 10MB/s
# 133x: 20MB/s
So looks like I am ok with 133x ... mymemory are selling their own brand memory 133x SD 1GB for 15.99 u reckon this is ok??? Or should I stick with brands like SanDisk or Lexar????

The Peak card I listed above is 150x speed and apparently Peak have quite a good name (although I had never heard of them before I purchased it). I ordered it on a Sunday evening and it arrived Tuesday morning, so the company are on the ball too. It came to under £20 including postage if I remember correctly.0
