Who's tried Pampers Simply Dry? (Dont read if eating!)

At tesco today, had a couple of till spits for these nappies at half price. Never heard of them before (I usually use Pampers Active Fit). They're really cheap - seems pampers are producing a budget nappy. Well at £1.99 pack instead of £5.98, thought I'd give them a whirl.
1st use and DD has a very loose, squirty poo (sorry if TMI) - result = change of nappy, vest and trousers.
Is this the norm for these or is it just cos DD like this at the mo? Reckon active fit would have kept it all under control.
Anyone else use them and how did you get on?

Their Simply dry range are absolute rubbish. I bought some of the wipes and they were bone dry. You had to use like 6-7 just to clean them. I didn't buy the nappies as I thought they'd be rubbish. I would stick with Normal Pampers. What's yours is mine and what's mine is mine..0

I've bought both the wipes and the nappies and both were great, in fact the wipes are my favourite ones because they don't all clump together when you try to take them out of the pack (Huggies, take note). Nappies coped with all sorts.0

Don't bother with them, They are cheap for a reason! Stick to your active fit. We tried one pack of simply dry nappies and will never do so again, I don't think that they are as absorbent as other nappies. I haven't tried the wipes though.0

Sainsburys own brand is very acceptable, with little in the way of leaks.Ankh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0

The standard tesco nappies in the purple pack outperform all the expensive brands imo. HTHMum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession

Split vote - thanks for your comments.
Atwitsend - for the first few months I generally stuck with the supermarket ones as you needed to change them so often, it was more price effective.
When the boys were babies 13 years or so ago (cough, cough) I used huggies as pampers leaked all over. With DD, pampers seem to suit her better.
Thank you for replying, folks, will see how the rest of the pack goes as to whether I return the other pack. Will definately use the last of my active fit for night time though. Please do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed.

I tried the Simply dry with DS when they first came out. Absolute rubbish!
That goes for the wipes and the nappies.
I always use pampers easy up pants for ds and they are good.Lead me not into temptation, I can find the way myself.
wins - peroni bottle opener, peroni bowl, peroni coastersx2 and a vodkat cocktail kit,
would love to win something 'proper'!!0 -
forgot to say - write/email pampers and explain that you're not happy and that you bought 2 packs and they usually give you vouchers as an apology. I did that and got £10's worth.Lead me not into temptation, I can find the way myself.
