What to do with my bathroom? Blank canvas

Hi Guys and Dolls
I've recently bought a new house, and am a bit stuck with what to do with the bathroom really. It's not the biggest of bathrooms, so I'm stuck with the fixed bath and, although it "works" I'd like to have something more funky.
Here's a picture of the bath at the moment the rest of the bathroom is plain white paint, with a toilet and pedestal basin:

I'm in the process of fitting a shower, so will be adding more tiles around the bath. Here are my options:
1 - Buy more of the existing tiles fitted by the builder @ £35psqm and tile to the ceiling on 3 sides of the bath
2 - Remove existing tiles and buy some different ones @ £10psqm
3 - Leave existing, add a border, then a different colour/style for the top
I think the existing tiles are finished too high for a border. It seems a massive waste to remove brand new tiles (and a lot of work) and get a complete new style, but it won't work out any more costly than option 1.
What I'm going for on the floor (currently concrete!) will be bamboo, and then extend that bamboo into a bath panel, much like the below:

I know this isn't strictly money saving, but I like this forum, and it's ideas, and I'm sure many of you have a good eye for things
Thanks in advance!

I would leave existing tiles and put a narrow border of those tiny tiles , can't think what they are called could be a different colour.. and then either continue with same tiles or change to another colour or white... I'd be wary of wood on the floor and bath panel they are going to get wet and unless they are specifically for bathrooms they are going to warp.. but I am sure you have already thought that one through#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

Don't like those tiles myself, I would be wanting to rip them off and put on good quality plain white tiles, extending to the ceiling around the bath/shower, just half height elsewhere, maybe with a coloured tile dado to make things more interesting. For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple and wrong.0

UF Heating as well?
New taps would snaz it up a treat as well!0 -
Thanks for the comments so far

I think What I'm going to do is get a creamy beige colour for the top half of the bath, and see how it'll go with the existing tiles. If it's not so good then it'll have to be a case of removing the existing tiles and going full height.
I'm a bit worried about the current tile sizes, so maybe an option to break it up would to be to re-grout with brown grout?
As for the wood - I've read a LOT about bamboo, and apparently you can use it in the bathroom as long as you seal it and still take care, as bamboo is a grass, not a wood.
UFH is a definite no-no. Although a nice touch, it'd be quite a lot to run from what I've read. New taps are definitely on the cards too!0
