No...I didnt actually I cleaned the kitchen, fridge, emptied freezer - most normal things a person would do! I was just saying that I did actually clean the oven lol.
At the end of the day, they do have a point, but are a very rude, unorganised and shoddy EA, I found it weird that I didnt have to sign the keys out....oh well!
Our new LL we are dealing with direct, and is much more accomodating and understanding, he wants us to stay for a good few years and gave us the first months rent for free to do up the property, with which......we bought.......dark BROWN carpets! Lol.....we learnt our lesson!!
Here's to more luck in our new property, and thanks for the congrats! x0 -
ok I admit their original issues are actual issues, but in the actual process of helping us keep the cost down as much as possible, they have been useless.
it is not up to the agent to accommodate your lack of cleaning ... the agent works for the landlord... had you cleaned everything properly before you left none of this would have been necessary......0 -

I agree, when I left my recently two rented properties, both landlords expected to be dipping into the deposit, as I don't live like a nun and a male on his own etc. But both were surprised with my commitment to getting it all cleaned. and non charged me for anything, on both occasions this required me cleaning an entirely empty house from top to bottom for 5 hours or so intensively, prior to the hand over day!
If your not willing to do the hard work, then you should be complaining about the charge.
Simple... everything should be as clean as you can possibly get it, THEN YOU WONT HAVE A PROBLEM.
PS i did have the help of my new GF on the second occasion, who I am now living with in her house. Happily!
